I began my dance career in 1996 taking dance classes at local studios. I studied all styles of dance including: Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Hip-Hop, Tap, Irish Dancing, Ballroom, and Belly Dance. I have always loved the performing arts as well as physical fitness. I have been a lifelong resident of the Philadelphia area and obtained a Double Degree in Paralegal Studies and Business Management, with a concentration in Marketing and English, from Penn State and Manor College in 2003. Upon my graduation from college I pursued the knowledge of physical movement through Yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing, Zumba, Group Exercise, and teaching various styles of fitness. I began teaching dance classes to children, teens, and adults in the following styles: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Belly Dancing. I offer annual workshops, weekly classes, and also offer private lessons.
I currently hold my E-RYT (Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher) certificate (which means I have completed the 200+ hour training and over 1,000 teaching hours), my YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider), my 20+ Hour Kids Yoga certificate, and am registered with both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Journal. I am currently working towards my E-RYT 500 (Experienced - Registered Yoga Teacher with 500 training hours and 2,000 teaching hours) certification through Yoga Alliance. I have learned and taught: Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga, Athletes Yoga, Calm Yoga, Seniors Yoga, Hot Yoga, Teen Yoga, and Kids Yoga. I specialize in teaching yoga to athletes and dancers to better expand their range of motion and improve muscle longevity.
I have acquired my Mat Pilates, Kickboxing, Primary Aerobics and Group Exercise certificates to better expand my knowledge of the human body and conditioning needed for training, health, increased strength, and flexibility. In addition to the above group exercise certificates, I also hold my Barre Fitness certification. I offer classes in various styles of Group Exercise and enjoy teaching fusion classes that combine styles to keep the physical movements fresh and exciting. I have also obtained my Zumba B1, B2, and Strong by Zumba certificates. I am currently a member on ZIN (Zumba Instructor Network), and enjoy learning new styles as well as teaching the latest trends.
I am certified through the Red Cross for First Aid/AED/CPR for both Adults and Pediatric. I have been certified as a Mandated Reporter through PA State ChildLine. I stay up-to-date yearly on all safety and health necessities for teaching physical activities, while safely coaching adults and children. I am also a member of the PAP (Philadelphia Association of Paralegals), and NFPA (National Federation of Paralegal Association). As an avid supporter of the arts, I am an active member of the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, and The Philadelphia Art Museum.
I was one of the area’s leading Professional Belly Dance Performers from 2002 to 2018, performing all over the tri-state area. I have been requested by invitation to perform in Atlantic City at various casinos (Harrah's, Borgata, Golden Nugget), for the Turkish Ambassador to The United States, by renowned dance companies in the area, and in Cairo, Egypt; and I have performed on stage as Lola in an off-Broadway rendition of the Damn Yankees in New York City. I have been certified in and received numerous awards in the Turkish, Egyptian, and Lebanese styles of dance.
In 2019 I obtained my Real Estate Agent License in PA so that I could better use all of my collected skills and have the freedom of teaching fitness/dance classes to anyone at anytime. I believe as we grow and change so must our interests and our goals. Never let your fears keep you from your dreams!
